DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING OF SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS
In accordance with the federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991, in addition to other pertinent state and federal laws promulgated to effectuate a drug and alcohol free workplace, the Acton School Committee is committed to contract solely with a Transportation Company which has in place an established alcohol and controlled substance testing program for school bus drivers.
The purpose of the testing program shall be to help prevent accidents, injuries and deaths resulting from the misuse of alcohol and controlled substances by drivers performing safety~sensitive functions. A copy of the testing procedures employed by the Transportation Company will be kept on file at the Superintendent’s office.
