GDA - Substitutes
SUBSTITUTES
It will be the responsibility of the Superintendent/Principal/designee, to assign a substitute to fill any vacancy caused by the temporary absence of a regular staff member. The substitute shall be selected from a list of approved substitutes.
In the filling of these temporary vacancies, an effort shall be made to secure substitutes who have full certification, and at least, training or experience at the level/subject of the staff member who is absent.
The Superintendent/Principal/designee will ensure that a school information packet will be supplied to substitutes.
Substitutes will be paid as follows:
CERTIFIED TEACHER: persons who are certified to teach at the appropriate level
From one (1) to less than twenty (20) consecutive days = $140.00
After twenty (20) consecutive days in any one teaching position, subsequent days will be paid at a per diem rate of 1/183 of the base pay.
COLLEGE DEGREE: persons holding an Associates or Bachelors degree
= $135.00
NON-DEGREE: persons with a High School Diploma and no college degree
= $130.00
Non-Degree people will not be eligible for long-term substituting for teaching positions.
Currently employed Ed. Techs will receive their hourly rate for substituting.
***Additional $50 every five days
